Things to Do near Our B&B in Virginia Beach, VA

Barclay Cottage Bed and Breakfast has a premiere location. We are only a 5-minute walk to attractions in the heart of the Virginia Beach resort area, including the 3-mile boardwalk and bike path that runs adjacent to our large pristine beaches. Feel the sun on your face and the wind in your hair! Along the boardwalk are many of the locals’ and guest favorite eateries and restaurants and where you will have fun with festivities, fireworks, music and events.

Virginia Beach Vibe Arts District

One block from Barclay Cottage Bed and Breakfast, starting on 17th Street, explore the Virginia Beach Vibe Arts District, a hub for artists, spirits, roasters, restaurants, art museum, farmers’ market etc… Many of the buildings in the district are adorned with hand-painted murals, many by local artists.

Virginia Beach Convention Center

The Virginia Beach Convention Center, located on 19th Street, is a 10-min walk from Barclay Cottage Bed and Breakfast. Enjoy entertainment, and all types of events all year long. This just happens to be the largest building in Virginia Beach.

Continue South to Rudee Inlet and Marina, feel the energy…go jet skiing, sailing, parasailing, dolphin watching, whale watching or charter a boat for fishing. You will also find great waterside dining along the inlet.

Don’t miss the Virginia Aquarium, it is one of the best aquariums and animal habitats in the country. The Aquarium offers guided boat tours for dolphin watching and whale watching. Be adventurous, the aquarium’s Adventure Park offers all levels for zip lining.

Climb the 18th-century Cape Henry Light House. Get back to nature and hike or bicycle at one of our parks – First Landing State Park, False Cape State Park, and Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
